Membership FAQ
Become a Charter Member today!
Q. Why is Westport Cinema Initiative offering a Charter Membership?
A. Ticket and concessions plus donations and grants only cover a portion of a non-profit theater’s operating costs. Memberships are the mainstay of the theater’s ability to offer great content. Our Charter Membership is meant to build up our member ranks and show how much support we have while we seek additional donations to fund the building of the theater.
Q. Is the cost of the Charter Membership tax-deductible?
A. The Charter Membership may be tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Consult your accountant.
Q. What do I get for becoming a Charter Member?
A. In addition to a special numbered membership card which shows you as an early supporter of the Initiative, you will receive:
- a $2 discount on one ticket for screenings between now and when the theater opens
- free annual membership renewal until the theater opens
- a discount on the 1st year membership once the theater opens
Q. Will my Charter Membership continue once the theater opens?
A. You will keep your special membership card and receive a discount on the 1st year membership. Then we will ask you to maintain your membership on an annual basis. Membership benefits once the theater is open will be announced at a later date.
