Jewish Arts & Film Festival of Fairfield County Short Films – Sunday Oct 25
This year’s collaboration with the Jewish Arts & Film Festival of Fairfield County features Short Films: Big Ideas.
Film shorts are a powerful medium for storytelling and communicating values,
culture, and ideology. Three film shorts programs will be presented, each made by
independent filmmakers who tell compelling stories relevant to current Israeli and Jewish
life. A film expert will introduce us to the genre and engage us in conversation about
the issues presented in the films.
Program I:
Three shorts that give comedic, poignant, and innocent voices to the Israeli psyche.
How I Killed Rabin • Dear God • What Do We Have in Our Pockets
Program II:
Three shorts that question how we fit into society, our place in our world, how we view ourselves and the choices we make.
Atalle • Until We Find Our Place • Court
Program III:
Three shorts that address dilemmas when confronted with choices not easily reconcilable with the values we hold sacred.
A Jerusalem Tale • I’ve Got Rhythm • Hannah Cohen’s Holy Communion
Sunday, October 25 • 1 p.m.
Westport Town Hall, Westport
A partnership program with Westport Cinema Initiative, Federation for Jewish Philanthropy
of Upper Fairfield County and the Jewish Arts & Film Festival of Fairfield County.
